Here upon the riverside I watch the water flow From atop the mountains high above into the sea below And at each and every moment the water is the same But at each and every moment the similitude is feigned The river, as it makes its way along the rocky bed, Is everywhere and nowhere from beginning to its end Simultaneously infinite and the smallest drop of rain The river never rests, and is perpetually sustained I have never found a peace like I do upon the bank Laying on the damp grass in a cool summer shade Watching the water flow accross the smooth river rock Connected to eternity like that one rain drop
